Behind Dawning Valley is a small group of writers:
Kyle Baxter
Kyle is a college student from southern California. He attends Whittier College, a small liberal arts school in L.A. County, where he studies business administration and Chinese studies.

He is interested in great HTML and CSS design, excellent devices and applications, and innovative businesses. He does freelance web design when not studying or watching X-Files. He has built several websites for startup companies.
Andrew Min
Andrew Min has been messing around with computers since age three, when he threw a tantrum trying to stay on Mickey Mouse ABCs. He has since become a complete geek. He started off with Windows 98 (when the rest of the world was oohing and ahhing to Windows 2000) and proceeded to learn everything he could about it. He then learned the wonders of XP with his first “real” computer, but ended up getting frustrated with it. At the same time, he started reading about the wonders of Linux.

In 2006, he summed up his courage, partitioned his hard drive, and installed Kubuntu Edgy. He has since been addicted to Linux. After installing Kubuntu, he got so excited he wrote an article about it and submitted it to Free Software Magazine. To his immense surprise, it was accepted and he began writing regularly for them. He then branched out and began free-lancing for Full Circle Magazine, Linux.com, and Linux Journal. He also enjoys frisbee, baseball, is a devout evangelical Christian, a proud American, and is now officially sick of writing in third-person.
James Mowery
James Mowery is a technology and social media journalist from Windsor, Virginia. He has dedicated his life to learn and write about technology. He is currently a staff writer for Performancing. His technology blog is Tech In Demand. James has previously written for Mashable and Total Gamer Zone. He was an independent financial trader before switching to a career in journalism.
Gary Richmond (Contributor)
Something of an anomaly. A double graduate in English with a keen interest in all things scientific and computing.
Not a career professional in the world of IT. A prematurely retired refugee from local government in the United kingdom and living off the fat of the land. (Credit crisis. What Credit crisis?)
Abandoned the nightmare prison of Windows for the broad sunlit uplands of GNU/Linux many years ago. Regular writer for Free Software Magazine and occasionally for Linux.com (when I need the money)
When not struggling with the innards of Linux can often be seen and heard (re)learning the guitar and learning to play a proud new baby grand piano and master reading music.
Ryan Joseph (Contributor)
Ryan has been using computers for as long as he can remember. He’s done (and still does) everything from hardware repair and building, to video editing and graphic design, to social media and online work. He’s been happily married for a year and a half and currently lives in the Orlando, Florida area having very recently moved from just outside Philadelphia. As far as writing goes, he has done a variety of diverse things. He worked in the communications department of a large nursing home writing press releases, he was previously a product reviewer for another tech website, he’s written several short stories, and currently maintains two personal blogs.
Elliot Vos (Contributor)
Elliot’s parents gave him a copy of Visual Studio 6 Learning Edition for Christmas one year, and he knew he was going to be a programmer ever since. He recently graduated from the Software
Engineering program at Rochester Institute of Technology and has moved on to the working world in Rochester, NY. While at RIT, he developed a deep interest in Apple, Inc. and web technologies. Elliot was first introduced to the idea that he could write about his passions in technology through the community at Newsvine.
